Microneedling is a safe office-based procedure. It can treat a range of skin issues, so people are having it done for various reasons. Tiny microscopic holes are created in the skin, and as the tiny microneedle holes heal, collagen and elastin are naturally produced, causing the skin to shrink and tighten. It requires less healing time than a surgical face lift and is a great alternative to laser treatment because there is not heat involved. (Lasers can cause post inflammatory hyperpigmentation due to the heat involved.)
GLOW only uses the Collagen P.I.N. because it’s the best in the industry. Innovative and effective, Collagen P.I.N. activates cellular regeneration to help tighten and lift skin, while minimizing common skin problems such as acne scars, fine lines, photo-aging, dull skin, poor texture, stretch marks and body scars. We use the 36 needle device which is state of the art. (Most devices only have 10-12 needles). More channels means more stimulation, creating more of your own collagen and elastin.
After reviewing your goals and expectations, your provider will apply a topical numbing cream to the entire treatment area (face, neck and/or chest). The cream sits for approximately 40 minutes. Once the area is numb, your provider will remove the cream and begin the treatment. This part takes approximately 20 minutes. You will not feel any pain or discomfort through the procedure. When finished your skin may be red in appearance and feel tight.
Over the next three days your skin may feel tight and may appear as if you have had a mild sunburn. Makeup and sunscreen can be worn after the first 24 hours. Over the next several days your skin may flake and peel a little and you will notice an improved appearance and texture of your skin! Results will continue to emerge over time and a series of three treatments is recommended to achieve maximum results. Once those are achieved we recommend a treatment every three to six months for maintenance and to continue to stimulate our own collagen.
The Vampire facial, or Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), involves extracting a couple of dessert spoons of a patient's blood from their arm and spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the plasma - the fluid part - from the red and white blood cells.
The concentrated plasma, which is rich in platelets - the part of the blood rich with growth factors - is then microneedled into the face. Results are the same as regular microneedling as far as a little redness and tighness etc. However adding in your own growth factors will help stimulate more collegan and elastin growth than microneeding alone.
GLOW Medspa is a licesed provider of the Vampire Facial.
