Is A Skinpen Procedure Right For Me?

Is A Skinpen Procedure Right For Me?

We are committed to administering our clients in attaining their desired appearance through one of our non-invasive skin-lifting procedures or a session with the revolutionary SkinPen technology. The question then becomes, “Is A Skinpen Procedure Right For Me?” Our attention today will be directed to that subject.

The number of emails asking for recommendations on slowing the signs of aging in the skin has increased. Even though we provide several excellent dermal treatments, the truth is that dull, damaged skin responds best to microneedling with the SkinPen. Restoring sun damage and age spots with microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, is a great way to have glowing skin.

What is SkinPen, And How Does It Work?

When it comes to microneedling tools, the SkinPen is unrivaled. It is successful because it causes multiple little injuries, initiating the body’s natural recovery. This gadget can only treat the outermost skin layers because of the thin and short needles used.

Dead skin cells and other residue are gently withdrawn by gliding the handpiece over the treatment area. This action contributes to the skin’s rejuvenation by stimulating the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. And your topical skincare products will work better and be more uniformly distributed following a microneedling session.

Also, unlike harsh chemical peels, you can apply this as often as you desire without worrying about skin damage. Stretch marks can be removed if the client is 25 years old. Even if you are in your 30s or 40s and have less elastic skin, sun spots, age spots, hyperpigmentation, or ruddiness, you can still benefit from treatment.

How SkinPen Tightens Your Skin

As far as we know, the Skin Pen is the only dermal roller with FDA clearance specifically for skin tightening. Repeatedly puncturing the skin with incredibly fine needles produces this result. Collagen, a protein vital to maintaining firm, supple, and youthful skin, is made more significant in response to these “wounds.”

Treatments can help restore the skin’s firmness and elasticity by stimulating the body’s production of collagen. Therefore, the treatment’s effectiveness won’t become apparent for another 4–6 weeks.

You’ll notice a difference in its tightness right away. It takes about a month for your skin to finish producing all the new collagen, so you won’t get the full tightening effects until then. Complete results for deep scars or stretch marks may not be seen for up to 9.5 months, depending on the number of appointments mandated.

SkinPen Pre-Treatment Preparation

Compared to other, more invasive procedures, microneedling with the Skin Pen instrument takes less prep time. Your medical history will be inspected, and any medications that could further thin your blood in the two weeks before your surgery will be asked about during your consultation. Prescriptions like garlic supplements, NSAIDs like naproxen, and MAOIs like venlafaxine should be avoided.

In addition, you should not use any topical retinoids or acne medications in the 14 days before your treatment. Last but not least, you need to reduce or remove anything that adds to your high blood pressure, such as alcohol, tobacco, caffeine supplements, or more than three grams of salt daily. Drinking around a gallon of water the day before practice can help you perform at your best.

SkinPen Procedure

One of the most significant selling attributes of this skin pen tool is that it doesn’t hurt the patient. Puncturing the skin with fine needles is painful. That, however, is far preferable to be pierced with several large needles. However, a local anesthetic can be supplied to the treatment area if you’re worried about feeling pain during the process.

Whether or not the treatment areas have been numbed, the procedure will start with a cleaning cleanser containing alcohol. We could apply ice or a local anesthetic to the area to dull any pain. After that, we’ll roll the Skin Pen device over the area to make a series of punctures.

SkinPen Post-Treatment

Regular makeup routines may be resumed just before returning to work or school after having therapy. The treated skin region must be shielded from the sun with a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher every four hours for the first two weeks after treatment. This is because your skin’s outer layers are sloughing off and being replaced by younger, thinner skin that is more sensitive to the sun’s damaging UVA and UVB rays.

Sunburns are possible even while wearing protective clothing, so keep that in mind. UV rays from the sun can impair skin even on overcast days. Sunburn is possible even if you spend your day behind glass at the office. Tanning beds also emit UV light.

In most cases, the entire microneedling process can be completed within an hour. If you need to treat a larger area, such as your chest, back, or abdomen, the time may be closer to 45 minutes.

As an added note, if you want more pronounced results, we’ll have to repeat the therapy more often. Expect your session to run around an hour and a half if you’re only treating a small area like your face. It may take up to 15 minutes for a topical anesthetic to take effect, so keep that in mind if you intend on using one.

Is A Skinpen Procedure Right For Me?

Experts agree that both men and women of any skin tone can benefit from using SkinPen. This treatment strategy is excellent for people who don’t want to use lasers or other MedSpa procedures. Various skin disorders can be addressed, including:

  • Facial wrinkles and creases
  • Pronounced pores
  • Overexposure to sunlight can result in the development of brown spots and hyperpigmentation.
  • Acne scars have a dull, uneven tone and texture.
  • Scars
  • Loose skin

How Long Do The Results Last?

Your treatment’s longevity is influenced by several factors, including the condition of your collagen and elastin, the quantity of sun exposure your skin gets, how well-hydrated you are, and whether or not you drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. Remember that these are just a period of the many factors that affect the duration of your benefits.
